Welcoming a new puppy into your home is exciting, but those early weeks are also the most important for shaping their future behaviour and wellbeing.

What is Puppy School?

Puppy School is a fun, positive environment where your puppy learns essential life skills, confidence and manners during their most important early weeks. Our classes use positive reinforcement and concept-based training through games, helping puppies learn in a way that’s enjoyable and stress-free.

Our trainers are Fear Free certified, meaning we use gentle, science-backed techniques that reduce stress and make learning fun. Your puppy will feel relaxed, safe and happy from the moment they arrive.

Our classes happen on Wednesday evenings 5:30pm- 6:30pm for a 4 week course.

Why is Puppy School important?

The first few months of a puppy’s life are critical for shaping their behaviour and wellbeing.

Puppy School lays the foundation for a calm, confident and well-behaved adult dog. It’s the ideal time to safely introduce your pup to new people, pets and experiences while learning how to respond calmly to new situations.

What training methods do you use?

Our trainer Vicky uses gentle, science-backed methods designed to make learning fun and stress-free. Your puppy will feel safe, relaxed and happy from the moment they arrive.

How big are the classes?

We keep class sizes small so every puppy gets individual attention in a safe, supportive environment.

When and where are classes held?

Classes run on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm over a 4-week course, at the PetMed Kohimarama location.

Who can join Puppy School?

Our classes are designed for puppies aged 10–16 weeks who are ready to learn, play and grow together.
